This was Margaret’s annual review. She is comfortable with how the portfolio has performed over the last year and the conversation focused on what to do with the bond that is maturing this month, tidying up her older pensions, and confirming that her circumstances and attitude to risk have not changed.

The £85,000 bond maturing this month will be reinvested rather than withdrawn. Margaret was clear she does not need the cash at the moment and would rather keep it working, so the full amount will move into a new self-invested pension.
She holds two legacy pensions with former employers that she finds hard to keep track of. We agreed to consolidate both into the new self-invested pension so everything sits in one place and is easier to review each year.
The money will be invested in the same balanced model portfolio she has used before, which she was happy with. Her attitude to risk and capacity for loss are unchanged since the last review, so no change to the profile on file.
Regular contribution levels will stay as they are for now. Margaret wants to see how the consolidation settles before deciding whether to increase them, and we agreed to revisit this at next year’s review.
She asked to keep receiving statements and review documents by email rather than post, and confirmed her contact details are still current.

Next steps sit with the firm: open the new self-invested pension on the platform, move the maturing bond proceeds across, and start the transfer of the two legacy pensions. Margaret is expecting a short note confirming everything is under way and does not need anything further from her at this stage.
